The Continuation!

Hello my Lovely Little LiArs!

You may think I've forgotten about this blog, but you couldn't be more wrong. I've been dying to continue working on it! Unfortunately, college and life got in the way.

This semester was a very hard one. French and College Algebra truly took all of my time and energy, not to mention Principles of Retailing and Business Law. French had 7 assignments due every week and College Algebra had 3. It was truly a nightmare! And let me tell you, learning a language online is nearly impossible. It was great in the beginning! But then I got severe bronchitis in October and went through several rounds of antibiotics until finally getting rid of it at the end November. Try doing 2 months of voice recording assignments that are graded on pronunciation when you can barely talk! Let's just say between my scratchy voice, my stuffed up nose, my squeaky voice, and the microphone static, I'm lucky I got in the 80s on those assignments!

And then with Math? Yeah... I didn't even do well in high school with this, let alone do well while having severe bronchitis for half the semester. Yet, I somehow managed to end the class with an 88% though, so yay me! Then again, I did get extensions so instead of only having one week I sometimes got 2, so I think that helped! (Absolutely ADORE my instructor for being so gracious about the homework and quizzes during my bronchitis)

So, in short, with everything that was going on, unfortunately writing my blog was my last priority because it was all I could do to keep up with homework and try to get better! HOWEVER! I'm now 100% better, the semester is over, and I'm ready to tackle this blog project! I can't guarantee I'll be done with Seasons 1 & 2 by the time it returns in January, but I'm going to do my very best over the next two months to get up to date!

If you're willing to continue this journey with me, I'll be very glad to share my thoughts and theories with you, and would LOVE to hear your comments and thoughts on what you read as well! There are so many ways this show could go, it's truly a game within a game because the viewers are constantly guessing, just like the Liars themselves! I love the interaction and I hope this blog brings further interaction and debate to the topic!

Until my next post my little Obsessers!

Season 1 - Episode 1 - Pilot [Still Being Updated]

Hello my beAutiful Obsessers!

Are you as excited as I am to start digging into this series and tearing it apart for clues? Re-watching Episode 1 has really made me re-look at what we just saw in the 3A Season Finale. Perhaps my theory is wrong, but just bear with me and hear me out. If you follow my thinking, you'll see where I'm coming from! So let's start with some basics!

Note: This format will be used for all of my future blog posts that are episode related.

Synopsis: One year after Alison's disappearance, Aria receives a disturbing text signed "A" - and the mystery begins.

Characters Introduced During This Episode
Aria Montgomery          Byron Montgomery          Mike Montgomery          Ella Montgomery
Spencer Hastings         Peter Hastings              Melissa Hastings            Veronica Hastings
Emily Fields    Pam Fields     Colonel Fields    Hannah Marin     Ashley Marin     Ian Thomas
Allison DiLaurentis            Mr. DiLaurentis            Mrs. DiLaurentis           Maya St. Germain
Mona Vanderwall      Wren Kim      Jenna Marshall      Detective Darren Wilden     Ezra Fitz

Okay, wow. All I can say is just... wow. I had forgotten how intense and full of information being slapped into your face this episode was! Let's first take a look at the night of Allison's disappearance.

When I first watched this episode, so much was thrown at me that I was overwhelmed and I was just left floored afterwards, which of course is ultimately the goal of every new TV Series. However, re-watching, I feel that there were so many things that should have been red flags that I honestly believe I missed! For starters, why did Allison insist on getting the girls to drink more than what they already are? Was it because she had somewhere to be, despite arriving late, and wanted the girls crashed before she left? What happened after they were intoxicated, but before they crashed? Allison's key phrase was that if they drank enough, they would spill all their secrets. She said this in particular to Aria, but looked at the group. What was she trying to spill out of them? Or was it just an Allison-thing, just simply wanting to have fun and get whatever information she could on the girls like always?

Now, they're all 15 years old when this is going on, so obvious under-age drinking going on here. They were in Spencer's barn that night.  How can such a prestigious lawyer like Veronica Hastings NOT know what's going on in her own back yard? I hardly see this as something she would permit given that she's so anal about Spencer having a great college application so she can make it into Yale or Princeton. Maybe she was out of town. Maybe Spencer's father wasn't there either. Maybe this is just coincidental. But what if there's something more to read into there? What if we're missing some crucial moment from that night?

What gets me the most though, is how is Spencer never questioned during this entire situation? When Aria wakes up from the storm, she sees that Spencer and Allison were missing. Now, we know from the flashbacks that Spencer and Allison had a shaky relationship and were constantly butting heads, probably because Spencer liked being in control but wasn't where the group was concerned because Allison was considered their ring leader.

[I'm posting this as a WIP so you don't think I've forgotten about you! I've been extremely busy with college the past few weeks, plus been extremely sick, but my goal is to finish this analysis during my November break or after I get out in December! I know this is taking forever, and I very much apologize! However, I hope you'll keep checking back and continue to keep up with me! You'll for SURE see a lot of updates during my Winter break!!]

The -A Letters

Hello my beAutiful Obsessers!

Because I have created the The Suspects post, and I'm 100% OCD about everything, I have also decided to create The Flashbacks post and The -A Letters post, in order to keep all of these organized and together in one place, versus spread out throughout the blog. I will refer back to these posts throughout my blog, and I will keep these posts in chronological order according to the Episode and Season in which they are released. Be sure to check back with every new post to see what I've updated!

The Flashbacks

Hello my beAutiful Obsessers!

Because I have created the The Suspects post, and I'm 100% OCD about everything, I have also decided to create The Flashbacks post and The -A Letters post, in order to keep all of these organized and together in one place, versus spread out throughout the blog. Season 1
Episode 1 - Pilot

Flashback 1
  • The first flashback we're introduced to features Mona Vanderwall, Allison DiLaurentis, and Aria Montgomery. When the flashback begins, we see Allison and Aria walking down a road eating ice-cream or frozen yogurt, can't really tell which, but which isn't really a huge factor so I didn't look into it too much. What is a key factor, is Mona.
  • Here we see Mona--a total geek despite her being très chic in real Rosewood time. Allison of course thinks it's hilarious that Mona is trying to get into the group and blows her off, despite Aria asking if maybe they should stop to see what she wants. Instead, Allison tells her to run, and so they duck down a side alley. Mona of course gives up and turns around, looking like she's about to burst into tears. I think we all feel for Mona at this point. I mean, even after knowing she's on the -A team I feel bad for her!
  • The flashback finishes with Aria and Allison seeing Aria's dad making out with a young blonde in the backseat of his car. Aria's Mom, of course, still has no idea it happened because in real Rosewood time, Byron is still making sure Aria keeps their little secret.

Flashback 2
  •  Our second flashback is much longer than the first. This one features Spencer Hastings, Melissa Hastings, Allison DiLaurentis, Hanna Marin, and Ian Thomas. When the flashback begins, you see that Spencer, Hanna, and Allison all standing in Spencer's kitchen. They're all dressed in Swimwear, other than Hanna, so you know it's summertime, sometimes before Allison's disappearance. It's assumed that all of these flashbacks are from the summer of Allison's disappearance, but it's never really confirmed I don't believe. Still, if they are, then my theory has even more credibility.
  • So the girls are all standing around, munching on snacks and chatting, when Hanna goes to eat a cookie. Hanna of course is the one who's slightly heavier than the rest of the girls, but I personally feel she looks great and shouldn't be tormented as she is by Allison about it. But of course, we're talking about Allison here, so of course she has to chide Hanna about the cookie, in that lovely way of hers. Spencer of course looks at Allison like "What are you doing?" and Allison's common response is "I'm only looking out for her!"
  • Now, during all of this, Melissa and her then boyfriend Ian walk in from outside. Hellos are exchanged, Ian flirty with Spencer, and Allison flirty with Ian. Obviously showing signs of something going on right then and there. Allison looks at Spencer with annoyance and disgust when Ian flirts with her, obviously jealous because she wants Ian. So what does Allison do? Do what Allison does best. Threaten to expose secrets. The secret on today's menu? The fact that Spencer kissed Ian, who's dating her older sister Melissa. Of course, Melissa hears Allison's comment of "You need to tell your sister." Spencer, luckily, is able to blow it off for that moment, and drags Allison outside to talk.
  • With reason, Spencer is angry and demands to know what Allison is doing. Allison retaliates with sass saying "Melissa's going to find out." When Spencer denies that will happen, Allison threatens that if Spencer isn't the one that says something, then Allison herself will tell Melissa the special news. Now, during this conversation, you can see the jealousy growing within Allison, throwing up major red flags on the situation.
  • Now, Spencer is a Hastings, and Hastings don't like being pushed around, especially when secrets are on the line. Unfortunately, Allison is the same and she hates being confronted by her "underlings". Spencer, in all her attitude glory, stands up to Allison and warns that if she says a single word to Melissa, then she'll tell the truth to everyone in Rosewood about "the Jenna thing."
  • Allison, of course, has nothing to say in retaliation, but you can see the anger growing as her "fledgling" stood up against her. It's safe to assume that the wheels were turning in Allison's head at that moment about how she can get back at Spencer for her little uprising.

The Suspects

Hello Obsessers!

I have decided to create a post early on documenting the Suspects of -A that we have uncovered! I will link this post every time a new suspect is uncovered in an episode post, and I will update this post when I update episodes as well. So for now I am going to post our two known members of the A-Team, and what seasons they were discovered. Keep checking back for more updates on Suspects!

Also check out The Flashbacks post and The -A Letters post for more chronicled Pretty Little LiArs!

The Arrival

Hello my beautiful Pretty Little Obsessers!

I have some great news...

Look what just arrived today!!

I'm so excited to start working on this project and really getting in an analyzing these episodes for clues I may have missed when I first watched this series. It's been so long since I've watched them that there's bound to be clues hidden somewhere! And please, remember that you can always post comments, theories, etc. for all of my posts! I really want to make this interactive and incorporate everyone's theories, not just my own, so be sure to chime in and share with all of your friends who are Pretty Little LiArs Obsessers!

On a side note, I'm very excited to announce that in October I will be taking a small tour around the New England State of the US! I'm very excited to take this trip as I've been dreaming of it for years. My first stop is in Albany to see How To Train Your Dragons Live Spectacular, then I plan on heading to Boston, Salem, Vermont, and possibly Connecticut! Salem is probably my highlight as the Salem Witch Trials have always fascinated me, as has the history in general. Please subscribe to my Instagram (@mdroyce) or Twitter to follow my journey and see these sites through my eyes!

The Waiting

Hey there Pretty Little LiArs Obsessers!

I have some announcements!

I ordered Pretty Little Liars Season 1 & 2 from Amazon last night in order to continue this journey with my blog, and I just got notification that they shipped and will be here by Friday at the latest! I'm so excited and can't wait. Since my shipment won't be here until Friday, I think I'm going to make Fridays my publication days. That will give me time to write up my theories, my questions, my take on the episode, etc., yet still give me time to do homework and keep up with my job. Hey, a college girl has to eat right? I may be able to do more than one episode a week, as this is my goal, but it will truly depend on my college and work schedule. But hey, one episode a week isn't bad for a first time blogger, right? There is so much in just one episode of Pretty Little Liars that I believe it would be crazy to try and combine more than that into one blog entry!

And since I've brought it up, I think I'll give you a little info on what it is the Pretty Little Liars: Obsession writer does for a living! I own Create A Can, which is a gift shop in Ogdensburg, NY, and what we do is we take brand new, unused paint cans and create special and unique gifts that are personalized and tailored to the person you're giving the gift to! The possibilities are truly endless--we not only can put names and dates on our gift cans, but we can also put family photos on them as well! We carry a wide variety of local NY products that you can't get anywhere else, so if someone special in your life misses home sweet home in NY, or even wants to experience a bit of NY flavor, we can customize a gift perfect for your loved one from the inside out. We have over 2,000 designs on our website, and just oodles of graphics to make new designs, so be sure to check us out on Facebook, Twitter, or click the link above and see what we're all about! If you have any questions, please don't hesitate to ask in the comments. I'll answer each and every one of you!

In regards to college, I'm currently a Junior and am majoring in Business Management while minoring in Marketing Management. I plan to pair these two with a Realtor's degree and license in the near future and take that next step in life. Realty has been my dream--I love houses, architecture, design, and dressing up to show them all off. Pairing it with my Business and Marketing Management background will only help me climb the ranks. I also hope to further Create A Can with these degrees as well. Though we have been established online for over a decade, I believe that we can only progress further and continue to grow and expand our reaches. As this is a family run company, and we do not have any corporate backing, I believe my degrees will help me get the financing we need to bring this retail location to a big city and give us the launch we need to get noticed by the military, who can use our products to give our men and women on the war front a piece of home while they're over seas. Between the family photos, messages from loved ones, and a can full of goodies from home, how can a soldier feel more appreciated and loved by the community and family he/she is fighting for?

On a side note: I know this isn't big news, as I'm sure all you bloggers out there are used to way more views, but I just had to share in my announcement that I received double digit views on my first post last night! I know 13 views isn't much, but hey, for a first time blogger? I'm pretty excited about everything! I can only hope this continues to grow to astronomical heights! Thank you to all who viewed and read my blog, it means the world to me! I hope you all continue to share this journey with me and keep coming back for more updates!

Talk soon my beAutiful bloggers!

The Beginning

Hello fellow Pretty Little Liars Obsessers!

My name is Megan, and I have been a fan of ABC Family's Pretty Little Liars since Episode 1. I had heard about the books through a friend in high school, but didn't have time to get involved in what seemed to be an intense and crazy series at the time of introduction. Boy am I glad I waited until I had more time on my hands to really sit and get engrossed in this series.

Now, when ABC Family first introduced this series, I was a bit skeptical: How can a family network create such a dark, disturbing series based around a murder and a missing body, and still keep it family-friendly, yet intriguing enough that it keeps us hooked and on our toes waiting for the next episode? Quite simple: bring amazing writers together who know how to keep things under control, and bring Marlene King into the mix.

This series has captivated me up until the very end of Season 3A, which just ended one short week ago. It seems like it's been too long already, and I'm certainly hooked on the new web series Pretty Dirty Secrets that's currently airing between now and the Halloween Special. While it does keep the Pretty Little Liars withdrawals at bay, it brings up so many more questions and brings together so many more scenarios, that one's mind could explode from all of the thoughts and theories!

My mother, whom I love dearly, has put the lid on my Pretty Little Liars obsession and refuses to hear more of my theories and crazy ideas, not to mention all of the wheels that are turning in my head putting things together from the past 2.5 seasons. She doesn't share my love of Pretty Little Liars, so she has finally got me to write a blog to engross my feelings and thoughts into. Why I haven't started this blog sooner I shall never know, but I am excited to start this journey and bring this blog to an epic height!

I'm sure you're all wondering how I'm going to go about writing this blog...

Well, the truth is, it'll hopefully be chronological, and logical, and full of intrigue, questions, and theories! My plan is to start with Season 1 and work my way to Season 3. I also plan to include the web series Pretty Dirty Liars into the mix as well. I know this may seem like I'm going backwards, and it's crazy to do this because we're already going in to Season 3B soon, but I feel like if I re-watch the series from Episode 1, blog about my experience re-watching it and compare it with how I remember originally feeling about the episode, I'll be able to catalog every detail of this series and find all of the missing clues that have brought us to this moment in time we are currently in in Rosewood History.

I also currently have the first four novels of Pretty Little Liars in my possession and plan to add the comparison to the novels into the mix as well. Basically what I'm doing is taking everything that Pretty Little Liars is about, throwing it into a blog, and documenting my theories, my questions, my intrigues, and my complete experience as being a Pretty Little Liars Obsesser.

I hope that many of you will read and enjoy my blog, and I hope that you all will take and share this journey with me! I very much encourage everyone's comments and theories, so please don't hesitate to comment and share your Pretty Little Liars Obsession! I look forward to reading and responding to each and every one of you, and I will certainly make a blog post after my initial entry has been made, responding to each and every one of you, so be sure to check back often and check for my response entries as well!

As this entry comes to a close, I am already excited to the brim about sharing this experience and seeing what everyone else has to say. Talk to you soon!
